When it's replacement, not repair
- Cracks longer than a dollar bill
- Chips bigger than a quarter, or three or more chips
- Any damage in the driver's direct line of sight
- Damage reaching the windshield's edge — that's structural
- An old repair that's spreading anyway
What a proper mobile install includes
Quality glass matched to your vehicle, full removal of the old urethane bed, primer and factory-spec adhesive, new moldings and clips where the vehicle requires them, and an honest safe drive-away time — the cure period before the seal reaches crash-rated strength. Anyone who says "drive it immediately, it's fine" is telling you about their schedule, not your safety.
The ADAS part nobody mentions until the bill
If your vehicle has lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, or adaptive cruise, there's a camera looking through the windshield — and after replacement it needs recalibration to point true. Skipping it can mean safety systems that quietly aim wrong. We tell you upfront whether your vehicle needs static or dynamic recalibration, price it in the quote, and make sure it gets done. No surprise line items after the glass is in.
Frequently asked questions
How long until I can drive after a windshield replacement?
Depends on the adhesive used and the weather, typically 30 minutes to a few hours. You get the exact safe drive-away time for your install — plan around it.
Do you use OEM glass?
We quote OEM-equivalent aftermarket glass by default (same safety standards, better price) and can quote genuine OEM if you prefer or your insurer specifies it. Your call, with both numbers in front of you.
Does every new windshield need recalibration?
Only vehicles with camera-based driver assistance — roughly anything recent with lane or braking assist. We confirm from your VIN and include it in the quote if needed.
